The oldest motorcycle company in the US is not as most people believe Harley Davidson but Indian Motorcycle Company. Founded in 1901 two years before Harley they have been making classic iconic motorcycles for decades. During WWII the company was an essential supplier of motorcycles to the US military and after the war struggled in making the transition back to the civilian market. Their operation came to an end in the early 50s and they were bought by the British company Royal Enfield who used the iconic name to peddle their unsold bikes. The name Indian then laid dormant for decades. After a half-hearted attempt in the 1990s to revive the company they came back in the late 90s with newly designed models that held the classic lines but had S&S engines. Plagued with reliability and built issues the company was bought by Polaris, who just a few years earlier started the very successful “Victory” brand.

Polaris invested a lot of money in designing a new frame and a brand new engine for just this bike. Two years later the Chief was introduced. Classic lines of the long swooped fenders and the icon war bonnet on the front fender with exceptional built quality made the new Indian a feared competitor to Harley Davidson who did not have much competition before in the domestic market.

The early Indian lineup was the Chief, Chief Vintage and the touring Chieftain, In 2015 they added the Scout and the Roadmaster, the ultimate touring bike. Since then several other model options had been added.

An amazing bike in unique paint combination. It is in really nice condition. The left saddlebag had developed a crack on the inside side towards the wheel that was fibreglassed to reinforce.

A great bike at the price of a Chief. The 3M chrome strip on the front fenders came off (as they all do) new set is included.

Contract looks like this: price of the bike and if you are in Florida we are required to collect sales tax and actual cost of registration. That’s it!
