The Honda VTX series is a line of Honda V-twin cruiser motorcycles inspired by the Zodia concept shown at the 1995 Tokyo Motor Show. The Honda VTX 1800 was launched in 2001 as a 2002 model. At the time this bike was introduced the Honda VTX engine was the largest displacement production V-twin in the world, but that distinction would be short-lived as the VTX1800 was superseded in 2004 by the 2-liter Kawasaki Vulcan 2000.

I purchased this bike via eBay auction in 2011 to be my primary touring bike. There were very few modifications made to the bike at the time of my purchase, and the bike had just over 15000 miles.

The bike has excellent power and torque and has been a great touring machine, averaging 34.7 mpg on 87 octane regular gas. There is no rust in the fuel tank. The bike recently had its 20,000 mile service and got a new battery. I continue to ride the bike while it is offered for sale, so mileage may be higher at the time of transfer.

I'm looking to sell the bike because most of the people I ride with have Harley Davidsons with 5-gallon fuel tanks average 45-55 mpg because their engines are smaller. My VTX has a fuel capacity of 4.5 gallons and averages 35 mpg, so, I have to stop for fuel more often. I want to purchase a bike with better range yet equipped with touring amenities and will probably buy a Gold Wing.

The bike has never been dropped or in an accident of any kind. The bike is adult-owned and garage kept. The value listed for this bike in the most recent issue of the NADA Blue Book is $5,312.
